First Line Contest

Karin Tabke, writer extraordinaire, started a 'first line' contest on her blog. Seventy-five entrants threw out their first lines, and the first week, ten were cut.

The second week, everyone left added another line and ten more were cut.

Karin has both editors and published authors checking out these lines.

Week three, another line added and five more were cut. And so it goes.

Now there are forty writers left. Speaking for myself, just finding myself still in the competition is amazing. Another line was added today.

The five writers left standing can submit ten pages to an editor.

Karin has brought forth new meaning to Mondays. Writers nervously check her blog to see if they have progressed to the next round.

Round six was posted today, and I'm still in the running. Amazing!
